Can you remember the last time you sat glued to your television instead of your mobile/laptop?
When was the last time you actually waited for a tv show and caught it live on TV instead of waiting for it online?
Social media has not just taken over our minds but has basically consumed our lives too. The ease of access is astounding, whether it’s music, movies or even TV series. We almost have no reason to switch on the TV any more, because who’s going to sit through all the ads that we can’t skip?
Giants like Netflix and Youtube are coming out with their own series that are interesting, engaging, readily available and frankly more in tune with today’s audiences than ever before. The variety is mind boggling and there’s hardly a shortage of content.
Since people tend to rely more the internet, it makes more sense for brands to cater to their online audience. Sure people can skip ads online, but they’re more likely to share the ad more than ever if your content is good. It’s not just smarter, it basically has no limit to the audience you can reach except for the restraints you set on it. You’re easily able to pick out specifics such as the number of people you want to reach, in what area, and even what time. Statistics are easily available for analyzing which is a huge help for helping brand images and how to make better content. A brand can practically become intuitive online as opposed to through the telly.
Not online yet? You should consider it. (Here’s a great place to start)
If you’re a brand that’s looking to its mark on the online world, making a viral video’s a good idea. But that’s a post for next time! Stay tuned!
